Athletics Reflection Term 4

Athletics  Reflection

1. How did your athletics practices go? (At least 3 events)
I went well in the 50 meter sprints by making 3rd place and qualifying for zones.
The event high jump was ok for me by missing 1m 5 but making 1 meter.
Discus was bad for me because I did not know how to hold the discus.

2.  In what event did you most improve your technique? How?
Sprints were what I improved in the most by not wobbling and keeping my feet low.
Looking straight instead of side to side was key to running fast.

3. What value did you show on Friday at Athletics most? How?

Connect was what I showed by supporting Jack B even though I was out.
I also told Sam that he did well when he got out by slipping in high jump.

4. Who else did you notice showing one of our school values (they could be from another class or syndicate)?
How?

Kasper showed connect by being a good sport no matter if I beat him or he beat me.
Even though I got to the relays and not him he wasn't sad he just accepted it and cheered me on.

Free time/Out door living skills

When we got back from the Burma trail Room 17 got free time. For free time I played rugby with
Eli E, Milan, Boston and Riley K. I scored three tries by running around everybody. But now we
take a journey into the Exotic forest where we build a hut out of a tarpaulin, tent pegs and
sticks. After building we went to look at other huts and the group explained why they built it like it
was. In my group there was Caitlin, Kyle and Jack F. Our huts tarpaulin was facing the way the rain and storms would come from. Even though we got it there were lots of challenging obstacles along
the way.

Maths Knowledge/Strategy Reflection

Maths Knowledge/Strategy Reflection

What was the strategy/knowledge that you were learning?
The strategy/knowledge I used was place value adding.

How well did you use the strategy/knowledge? Give an example
I used the strategy okay because I made a mistake in the decimal places by going into
thousandths instead of adding a one to the whole number.

What challenges/ mistakes helped you with this new strategy/knowledge?
The challenge/mistake I made was when I thought the question was 180+ 50 when it was
actually 180+ 30.

This helped me because I learned that I had to look at the question
and make sure I don't make a silly mistake again.
